You = A Barcelona Day Trip customer / The person booking this trip / Any and all members of a group or individual not present at the time of booking but are taking part in one of our tours, activities or day trips.

Cancellation policy and refunds

Up to 24 hours before your tour

You can cancel your booking with a full refund or make any changes up to 24 hours before the tour. That includes changing the number of people coming on the tour or the date of the activity (subject to availability).

So basically you’re free to make any changes and we are extremely flexible outside the 24 hour period.

In situations close to the 24 hour deadline period;

In order to receive your refund, you must have had contact with one of our staff or be able to show a written request to cancel via email (that’s outside the 24 hour period), in order to qualify for a full refund.

(Saying that you tried to call and cancel will not be accepted without evidence of your cancellation request and the time and date of that request).

Within 24 hours of your tour

Within 24 hours of the tour, all of the tour arrangements have been made and therefore we cannot and do not offer monetary refunds.

We do however try and be as flexible as we can. If you do cancel within the 24 hour period, you can request a voucher of 50% of your total booking value to be used within 1 year of your booking date, on an alternative booking with Barcelona Day Trip. This voucher cannot be exchanged for cash.

Requests for this voucher must be made via an email with details of your booking to: bookings@barcelonadaytrip.com

Force majeure

If you cancel a booking and have evidence of force majeure, we look at these on a case by case basis. Please get in touch with as much detail as possible via: bookings@barcelonadaytrip.com

No shows

Our tours leave on time and we advise to arrive at our meeting point at least 15 minutes before your tour starts.

We understand that sometimes it’s not possible to be exactly on time and we will always wait for a few minutes (if you get in touch with us). However due to the nature of our schedule and the number of people we take each day we cannot wait forever.

We do not offer refunds for customers who miss the tour.

Due to weather or sea conditions

From time to time we must make amendments to or cancel our tours completely due to weather or sea conditions. Our number one priority is always the safety of our customers and our staff.

If weather or sea conditions are not optimal and look like they will effect participants safety, Barcelona Day Trip could be forced to cancel the tour. If this case we will notify you as soon as possible and either move you to a different day / start time or offer you a full refund.

The decision to cancel due to weather and sea conditions will be made exclusively by Barcelona Day Trip guides and managers.

Cancellation decision will be taken at the time scheduled for the beginning of the activity according to weather and sea conditions existing at that moment. No cancellation will be decided prior to the beginning of the activity on the basis of weather forecasts (unless the weather is particularly bad) as forecasts are not 100% reliable and weather and sea conditions tend to change over short periods of time.

It may be the case that the activity must be interrupted once it has started due to worsening weather or sea conditions. In this case, the possibility of postponing the entire activity to another date or refunding part of the amount of the reservation to you will be established by mutual agreement.

All date changes that occur due to weather or sea condition are subject to availability.

General conditions

Medical conditions / illness

You have an obligation to report possible states of pregnancy, paraplegia, cardiovascular disease or any other condition or illness before taking part in any activity. This includes all members of your group for your booking.

Drugs / alcohol

By booking you and all members of your group agree not to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs and/or narcotic drugs, as well as any other medication that may influence your capacity to take part in any part of your day trip or tour.

This includes any substance or circumstance that impedes reactions or impairs normal involvement in the activity, interactions with your group or guide.

Breach of this condition will not void your right to participate in the activity and you will not be entitled to any refund of the amount paid up to that time.

We have the right to refuse travel on our transfers to anyone abusing drugs or alcohol.

Swimming ability

With the exception of our ‘Beach Day’ tour; you must have a basic swimming ability in order to participate in our day trips and tours.

Failing to show you have a basic level of swimming ability means you will not be able to participate on our tours.

Your Barcelona Day Trip guide has the final say of whether to allow you or any member your group to participate on a tour. There are no refunds given for customers who cannot participate because they cannot swim.

Children

In the description of each activity is specified the minimum age required to participate. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. In the absence of this, the legal guardian of each child must sign a consent form.

It is required to report any relevant aspect of health, fitness, special need or other issues that could affect any children’s ability to participate in our tours or activities such as: allergies, asthma, or possible special educational needs, etc.

Following our instructions

You agree to accept any decisions from Barcelona Day Trip guides or managers and follow their instructions at all times, to ensure the safety of the tour or activity.

Valuables

Barcelona Day Trip is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings or valuable items. We offer customers a space to leave their personal belongings and valuables, they are left there at your own risk.

By participating in the tour or activity with prosthetics, glasses, contact lenses, or any other personal belongings the customer assumes the risk of damage caused during the normal participation of the tour or activity.

No complaint in these matters will be considered.

Photos and videos

By taking part in our activities you agree for Barcelona Day Trip to be able to use all photos and videos taken on the day as we see fit across all media platforms and our website. This applies to adult participants, never to children under 18 years old.

We like to post our tours on social media and update our website but if you do not wish us to use your pictures, please write to us via email: info@barcelonadaytrip.com with your booking details.

Insurance

All tours and activities with a Barcelona Day Trip guide include Civil Liability insurance (Policy number 1200060757) and Personal Accidents insurance (Policy number 1300011015) contracted with insurance company BERKLEY ESPAÑA. Full information about conditions and insurance coverage is available to customers and will be sent to those who request it.

Confirmation you have read and understood these booking terms and conditions

From confirmation of the booking, you expressly accept all Booking Terms and Conditions. In the event that a person is booking for others, they assume in his names each and every one of these Booking Terms and Conditions.

In case of conflict that had to be resolved in the Courts, both parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of the city of Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona).
